Norene Posey Obituary
Norene Posey, 85, was born July 25, 1926, in Douglas, Ariz., and passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012. She was the daughter of Bueford and Vivian Martin, of Rodeo. Norene grew up in Rodeo and attended Animas High School, where she graduated top of her class. She was a lifetime resident of New Mexico.
She is survived by loving husband of 67 years, Leaden Posey; three children, Dena Del Carlo (Don), Dennis (Lu Ann) Posey, and Hyram (Lori) Posey; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Norene was employed for 27 years as personnel manager for Dyna-Electron Corporation at Holloman Air Force Base. She was Worthy Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star in Alamogordo and Tularosa Chapters and Past Grand Ruth in the Order of Eastern Star State of New Mexico. Norene was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and an avid Sunday school teacher. For years she loved interacting with an array of friends and family in Otero County. Norene and Leaden loved to do extensive traveling in their motor home throughout the United States. She also loved doing gardening, sewing and cooking at their home "South Fork."
She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Tucker officiating.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Brown, G.L. Tucker, Walter Argall, Herman Price, Emmitt Posey and Clyde Posey.
Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at the Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home chapel.
The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
