Certified oncology nurse specialist
Norma C. Bennett, R.N., 65, of Alamogordo, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2008, in Alamogordo.
Norma was born Sept. 1, 1942, in Amarillo, Texas, to Pary Watson and Margaret Grace (Shipp) Conley. She graduated from Druid City Hospital Nursing School in Tuscaloosa, Ala., in 1970 as a registered nurse. She was a certified oncology nurse specialist at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Wayne Bennett, of the family home; two daughters, Wendy Rust and her husband Perry, of Alamogordo, and Jessica Ouderkirk and her husband Barry, of Alamogordo; a son, Pary Bennett and his fiancee Michelle Boroski, of Alamogordo; seven grandchildren, Jocelyn Rust, Mason Rust, Kaitlyn Rust, Rory Ouderkirk, Peyton Ouderkirk, Marlise Ouderkirk and Clint Boroski, all of Alamogordo; her mother, Margaret Conley-Moore, of Alamogordo; a brother, Pary Conley Jr. and his wife Margarita, of El Paso, Texas; and a sister, Joy McClain and her husband Kenny, of Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Pary Conley Sr., and her stepfather, John Moore.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Christ Community Church with Pastor Jack Brock officiating.
Interment will follow in the White Dove of the Desert Cemetery, located on the grounds of Christ Community Church.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Grace, Clayton Grace, Lance Grace, Dr. Allan Paul, Dr. Larry Starr and Dr. John Cason.
Friends may call this evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
