Orlando B. Otero, 66, born March 29, 1947, passed away peacefully on Dec. 31, 2013, surrounded by family.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Korea during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his children Penelope Epler (Keith), of Texas, Tammy Hoth, of Utah, and Jeremy (Melissa), of Utah; 10 grandchildren Christian, Austin, Cooper, Brynlee, Graycee, Brenton, Izabelle, Tristan, Brennan and Dylan; nine brothers and sisters Edna Chavez (Johnny), of Tularosa, Mary Adler (Frank), of Alamogordo, Gabriel Otero (Irene), of
Alamogordo, Irene Maturino, of Alamogordo, Junior Otero, of Washington, Billy Otero (Luisa), of Alamogordo, Johnny Otero, of Texas, Emilio Otero (Tina) of Alamogordo, and Robert Otero, of Florida; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Orlando is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Manuelita Otero, grandson Hayden Hoth, sisters Pauline Pacheco and Sylvia Tessitore, and brothers Tino Otero and Joe Otero.
Cremation has taken place with PCS of Alamogordo.
Rosary will be recited at 12:30 p.m. by his niece Veronica Chalan on Jan. 17, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church, followed by Mass and Burial at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the First National Bank in Alamogordo to the Orlando Otero Memorial Fund.

We have known our Primo Orlando since our childhood days, we go back along time. Remembering all the good times we had in Carrizozo and Alamogordo.
