Otila (Parra) Valenzuela Obituary

Otila Valenzuela, 91, passed away on October 2 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was born on June 12, 1924 in Minaca, Mexico to Sidronio and Tiofila (Loya) Parra.

Otila enjoyed many things during her long and blessed life. Her passion for Mariachis and dancing will not and could not be forgotten. Sewing, reading and learning about history, and knitting were her dearest hobbies. But her greatest love was for when the house was bursting with family and friends with so much love and laughter in the air that the house could hardly hold. We will always cherish and miss not only her, but her funny stories with her accent that always added a level of love and humor. Not only will Otila's children, grandchildren and great children miss her. So will her beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and family friends.

Survivors include her two daughters, Martha (Jim) Jones of Mayhill, N.M., and Irma Murphy of Moriarty, N.M.; her son, Arturo (Yvonne) Valenzuela of Alamogordo, N.M.; her grandchildren, Patty (René) Millet of Paulina, La., Christina (Travis) Reeves of Moriarty, N.M., Amanda Valenzuela of Austin, Texas, Elisha (Dillon) Wood of Virginia Beach, VA Jimmy Jones Jr. of Section, AL, Cindy Smith of Section, Ala., Tim Pollack of Canadian Lakes, Mich., Robert (Corina) Pollack of Tularosa, N.M., Conrad (Vanessa) Bautista of Alamogordo, N.M. and numerous great-grandchildren.
