Pablo Anaya Obituary

Pablo Anaya Jr., 74 of Alamogordo was called home peacefully in his sleep on Feb. 22, 2016. He was born Jan. 20, 1942, to Pablo and Guadalupe Anaya.

He is survived by his wife Carmen Chavez, his children from his previous marriage Tina Otero, Cathy Ingram and Richard Adler DeLorca, his inherited children whom he loved as his own, Cynthia Chavez, Theresa VanAusdal and Ray Chavez Jr., 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one on the way; seven siblings Lore Anaya, Carmen Anaya, Anne Anaya, Gorgonio "Gonie" (Jodean) Anaya, Patsy Anaya, Susan (Henry) Brusuelas, Tony (Sandy) Anaya and numerous nieces and nephews, aunt and uncle Benancio and Martha Misquez.

Pablo was well known for his role as Santa Clause for the annual Toys For Tots. He was also an active member of Immaculate Conception Church and was well known for his help at the annual Fiesta de la Familia. Pablo was an artist. He enjoyed creating unique designs out of any material he could find. He enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, traveling and dancing. Though he was getting older he still managed to find time to crack jokes and make everyone around him feel welcome. Pablo will be greatly missed.

Pablo was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lucy Rodriguez.

The family will greet friends from 9 to 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
The Rosary for Pablo Anaya will be recited at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Mass following at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. A reception will follow interment at St. Jude's Parish Hall.

Pallbearers will be Greg Mars, Ramon Anaya, Michael Marquez, Stephen Ingram, Ernie Brusuelas and Manuel Cordero.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandkids, great grandkids and best friend Cocoa the dog.

The Anaya family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
