Pat Blackwelder Obituary
Pat Blackwelder, a long-time resident of Alamogordo, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012.
Pat was born Feb. 1, 1912, to Charles and Hattie May Day Blackwelder in Gunter, Texas.
He worked as a welder during World War II building ships in Long Beach, Calif. He worked at Holloman AFB for Northrop Aircraft and retired from Land Air.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Blackwelder.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, son Charlie Blackwelder, daughter Joyce Blackwelder Mount, grandchildren Kim Anderson, Dawn Blevins and Sarah Patrick; great-granddaughter Amanda Anderson and his step-children Larry Kizzire and Linda Hotson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Grace United Methodist Church with Reverend Harry Riser officiating.
Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home Chapel.
The Blackwelder family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
