Paul Kenneth McMurry Obituary
Paul Kenneth McMurry, 89, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012, in Alamogordo. He was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Ector, Texas, to Finis Ewing and Virginia (Houston) McMurry.
Kenny was very proud of his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II. His last duty station was in Chicago, where he met and married Lavell Roeschlein. After returning to Alamogordo, he and his brothers George, Mac and Willie owned and operated The City Dairy for many years. After retiring from the dairy, he worked a short time for Otero County at the fairgrounds.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavell McMurry, in 1991, and his son George William McMurry in 2001.
He is survived by three daughters, Carol Jensen and her husband, Del, Paula Young and Mickey Wood; his daughter-in-law Joan McMurry; 11 grandchildren: Brad Jensen and his wife, Dianne, Amy Morrow and her husband, Scott, Douglas Young and his wife, Hollie, Robby Young, Jerri Young, Paul McMurry and his wife, Lisa, Terri Snow and her husband, Josh, Jessica Gallo and her husband, Emir, Tony Gallo and his wife, Jenaway, Emily Woodall and her husband, Matt, and Riata Wood; and seven great-grandchildren: Zoe Morrow, Ben Young, Matthew and Jonathan Snow, Olivia Wood, Amelia Woodall and A.J. Gallo.
Kenny's family would like those who knew him to join them for a celebration of his life at noon Friday, May 18, 2012, at American Legion Post 34 in Alamogordo. His family requests no flowers.
Private inurnment will take place.
The McMurry family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
