Beloved husband, father and grandad
Paz Garcia, 66, of Alamogordo, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces.
Paz was born Jan. 24, 1941, in Presidio, Texas to Theodoro and Maria (Montes) Garcia. He worked for Boeing for many years before his retirement. After his retirement, he enjoyed working on cars, remodeling his home, and spending time watching his grandchildren's sporting activities.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Julia, of the family home; three sons, Michael Garcia and his wife Jennifer, Freddie Garcia, and Richard Garcia, all of Alamogordo; four grandchildren, Jason Garcia and his wife Chelsie, and Jesslynn Garcia, all of Alamogordo, and Chris Embrey and Desiree Garcia, both of Albuquerque; one great-granddaughter Jaysie; a brother, Juan Garcia and his wife Clara, of Alamogordo; and two sisters, Patricia Dutchover and her husband Frank, of Odessa, Texas, and Guadalupe Rubalcaba, of Hobbs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Inez Cortez.
We love and will miss you - Julia, Michael, Freddie, Richard, Jason, Jesslynn, Chris, Desiree and Jaysie.
A vigil service will be conducted this evening at 7 p.m. with the rosary to be recited by Vanita Chelgren.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Jude Mission with Father Bryant Hausfeld, O.F.M., as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Albert Cervantez, Rigo Rubalcaba, Eppy Cortez, Abel Dutchover, Gilbert Lucero and Esteva Balderrama. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Tesillo, Juan Garcia Jr. and Bennie Artiaga.
Friends may call this evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
