Pedro J. "Pete" Vega Obituary
Pedro "Pete" J. Vega was called home Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, in Seminole, Texas, from heart disease. He was born Oct. 12,1957, in Alamogordo to Ignacio and Mary Vega.
He graduated from Alamogordo Senior High in 1976 and was the Gold Helmet Lineman of the Year in 1975 for the Alamogordo Tigers under coach Braun. In those years, he worked in Midland, Texas; Biglake, Texas; Farmington; Odessa, Texas, and finally settled in Seminole, Texas.
He married the love of his life, Rosalinda, in 2006 and they lived happily in Seminole.
Pete loved to travel, be outdoors, put puzzles together, teach his nephews and nieces life lessons, fish, barbecue and spoil his dogs: Paco - who was with him until the end, Chiquita, Mimi's, Lucy-goosey and Cassidy. He was a patient, loving, giving man with the gift of gab - he never met a person he didn't call a friend.
Pete is survived by his wife, Rosalinda, and stepdaughter Rebecca Cobarobio, both of the family home; stepson Joe Cobarobio, of Odessa; his parents Ignacio and Maria (Pantoja) Vega, brother Larry Vega and sister Maria Vega, all of Alamogordo; nephews John P. Vega Jr. (Jessica) of Norfolk, Va., Nick Bright, of Sanger, Texas, and Devin Bright, of Alamogordo; nieces Dominique Vega, of Mercedes, Texas, Celia Cover (John), of Valdosta, Ga., Mary Grace Moon, of Cookeville, Tenn., and Martina Vega, of Baton Rouge, La.; and great-nephews and great-nieces John Cover, Michael Cover, Andiana Cover, Skylar Vega, Jaden Vega, Katelyn Moran, Daniel Moon and Sophie Vega.
He was preceded in death by his baby brother John P. Vega Sr. in 1995.

A memorial Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic church on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at 10 a.m. Burial of his ashes will follow in the Immaculate Conception Catholic cemetery; he will be buried beside his brother. A barbecue will follow at his parents' home, 1207 Hendrix, in honor of him.
