Peter Van Middlesworth Obituary
Peter Van Middlesworth, passed away on June 19, 2017 at his home in Boles Acers NM, with his loving wife Donnie present.

He was born August 18, 1944 in Bound Brook, NJ to John O. & Cora Van Middlesworth. Being the second born of three children. He resided in New Jersey until he joined the Air Force in 1962. He served his country well from 1962-1975, during this time he was stationed at HAFB where he met the love of his life of 50 years, Dona Bell Hilton. Together they raised a family, while moving with the Air Force. After he discharged, they settled back in Alamogordo NM, and built a happy home and life. He then was employed with Otero County for 35 years, as the accounting supervisor for the Otero County administration office until he retired in 2012.

With the zest of life, Pete enjoyed many things, such as fishing, bird watching, holidays, family gatherings, caring for his yard and building a beautiful home with his Donnie to raise his loving family in. He volunteered his time to many organizations such as the Boles Acres Volunteer Fire Department, The Counseling Center, Boles Acres Lions Park, Betty Dare, and even KaBoom playground builds. The world has lost a bright and happy soul. He will be greatly missed and cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Pete was proceeded in death by his mother Cora Van Middlesworth, father John O. Van Middlesworth, sister Julie Weaver, daughter Charlotte Van Middlesworth, grandson Patrick William Day Tays, and loving niece Marie Trujillo.

Pete is survived by his beloved wife Donnie, three daughters, Tammy Tays (Patrick T.) of El Paso TX, Donna Belle Van Middlesworth of Alamogordo, NM and Holly Faye Edman (Jim E.) of Ruidoso, NM. Three grandchildren of whom he was a proud Papa, his name sake Peter Van Lee of Ruidoso, NM, Samuel Tays of El Paso, TX and Faith Ragland of Alamogordo, NM. Sister Rebecca Keogh, of Branchburg, NJ as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, close friends and extended family, which include Johnny and Jennifer Rasnick of Tucson AZ, whom he loved as a brother and sister.

Funeral service will be held Saturday July 1, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at Monte Vista Cemetery with full military honors, in Alamogordo NM.

Pallbearers will be members of the Boles Acers Fire Department and honorary pall bearers will be close family and friends.
A celebration of Pete's life with be hosted by family and friends after graveside services at Primera Iglesia Bautista Church located at, 1711 Ocotillo in Alamogordo.

The family have entrusted the care of Pete to Hamilton-O'Dell funeral home.
