Porter Thomas Owen Jr. Obituary
Porter Thomas Owen Jr., 81, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012, in Alamogordo.
He was born Tuesday, July 15, 1930, in Davis, Mo., to Porter Thomas and Viola (Meister) Owen.
Mr. Owen was a member of the Tularosa Masonic Lodge No. 49, A.F. & A.M. and the Tularosa Basin Chapter No. 72 of the Order of Eastern Star. He served in the United States Army and was an aircraft mechanic for Boeing for many years.
There were two great loves in Tom's life. The greatest was his family and the other was his life in New Mexico.
Survivors include his son Thomas W. Owen and wife, Nedra; daughters Deborah Seals and husband, Lyle, Jacquelynn Steele and husband, Rusty, and Mary Herrmann and husband, Paul, all of Missouri; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers Jim Owen and wife, Anne, of Dayton, Ohio, and Jack Owen, of Hartford, Mo.; and a sister, Violet Crouch, of Troy, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Owen.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the Tularosa Masonic Lodge.
The Owen family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
