Rachel Lucille Priemer Obituary
Rachel Lucille Priemer, 76, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011, in Alamogordo.. Formerly of Newport, Mich., she was born July 23, 1934, in Columbus, Ohio, to Theodore S. and Lemal Mae (Roberts) Rice.
She was a resident of Alamogordo since 1987. She attended St. Jude Parish and Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church. Rachel was a very loving and caring person, making an impression on everyone she met. She enjoyed being with children and held numerous child care positions, along with volunteering in the local community.
Rachel will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Gerald C. Priemer; her sister Betty (Bill) Bryan, of Columbus, Ohio; a son, Gerald Priemer II, of Alamogordo; daughters Beverly (Boyd) McClean, of San Antonio, Texas, Susan Holland, of Wheaton, Ill., and Diane (David) Sheehan, of Newport; eight grandchildren, Janette (Billy) Dunlop, Alayne (James) McClung, Jerry, Douglas Jr., Shane and Brian Lorann, and Jason and Kristen Beck; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, two brothers, a daughter-in-law and three grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, June 18, 2011, at St. Jude Parish, 1404 College Ave., Alamogordo.
The rosary will be recited at 9:15 a.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with Father Tom Hoffman, S.J., as celebrant.
Inurnment will follow at St. Jude Columbarium.
Everyone is welcome to join the family at St. Jude Parish Hall for a luncheon provided by the Ladies Auxiliary.
Donations may be made to Alamogordo Friends of the Zoo or Alamogordo Home Care/Hospice.
The Priemer family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
