Obituary Condolences

Ralph Overby, 82 , passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2008. He was born June 6, 1925, in Biggers, Ark., to Robert D. and Myrtle (Melton) Overby.
Ralph joined the military, serving in the U.S. Navy in the Sea-Bees in the Philippine Islands during WWII. He was the owner/operator of Overby Bros. Furniture and Western Auto Store in Alamogordo since 1967. He was known for his knowledge in coins. He owned Overby Bros. Coin shop. He was active in the Coin Club and was the president of the club for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Norma Lea Belew Overby, of the family home; a daughter, Sue Overby DeWolf and husband Chuck DeWolf Sr., of Alamogordo; sisters, Charlene Crutcher of Arkansas and Hassel Hutchinson of Illinois; grandchildren, Kelly DeWolf Otis and husband Todd of Fishers, Ind., and their children, Ryan and Jensen Otis, Beth DeWolf White and husband Derik and son Justice White, Jessie Overby of Tucson, Ariz., and Jenny Overby of Las Cruces; three step-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grand children and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daily Overby and Myrtle Melton Overby; a son, Jerry Donald Overby; a grandson, Jerry Brian Overby; and a brother, Charles Overby.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at the Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel with Karl Schmid officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. 
Cremation has taken place at PCS entrusted to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
