Best neighbor you could have                            
Ramon Davalos Brusuelas, 87, of Tularosa, died peacefully Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at home surrounded by his wife and children.
Ramon was born Aug. 1, 1921, in Bent to Jose and Venancia Davalos Brusuelas. He married Frances Paz Luevano on Nov. 29, 1946.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances Paz Luevano; seven children, Virginia, Henry, Gloria, Susan, Lucy, Patsy and Stella; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Dolores Sainz, and one brother, Paul Brusuelas.
He served in the Army during the Philippine Liberation (Oct. 6, 1942 - Dec. 18, 1945) and was awarded the Sharpshooter Rifle Award. He retired in 1973 from the civil service as fire truck mechanic.
The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2009, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. 
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated following the rosary in the church with Father John Tran Nguyen as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
Pallbearers will be his family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Education Fund (CCD) at St. Francis de Paula Church.
The Brusuelas family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
