Raoul J. Couture Obituary

Raoul J. Couture, 80, passed away peacefully on Oct. 11, 2014, at his home, in Alamogordo.

He was born on Feb. 23, 1934, in Bay City, Mich., to Joseph and Mary Couture.
He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years and retired in December of 1974. He was awarded the Silver Star and the Bronze Star for his service in the Vietnam War. After retirement from the Air Force, he and his wife Juanita owned and operated Baskin Robbins in Alamogordo.

Raoul was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Juanita, who passed away in 2013.

He is survived by his three sons, Patrick of San Antonio, Texas, Michael of Chandler, Ariz., and Brad of Surprise, Ariz. He had two stepchildren, Paul Edmondson of Culpeper, Va., and Barbara Severance of League City, Texas. Also surviving are sisters, Mary Skowronski of Richfield, Ohio, Therese Wagner of Canyon Lake, Texas, Beatrice Turvey of Linwood, Mich., Donna Rickles of Cape Canaveral, Fla., and Janet McKenzie of Onaway, Mich. Raoul also leaves behind six grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be conducted at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Victor Colton officiating.
Should friends desire, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans Society in his memory.
