Ray McKinley Toon Obituary
Ray McKinley Toon, 55, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, in Rio Rancho. He was born Friday, April 15, 1955, in Alamogordo to Theodore Dudley and Joan Margaret (McKinley) Toon.
Ray served in the United States Marine Corps and as controller of New Mexico Military Institute under the rank of captain. He graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in accounting, and was a certified public accountant. He was employed with EMCORE Corporation as controller.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Joan Toon; his brother Randall Toon; his grandparents Mr. Eber McKinley and Beatrice McKinley; Mr. Ted T. Toon and Mrs. Edna Toon.
He is survived by his wife of 32 Y2 years, Glenda (Price) Toon, of the family home; a daughter, Tandra Ruth Toon, of Dallas; sisters Donna G. Toon, of Weaver, Ala., and Rebecca Toon and a brother, Michael A. Toon; parents-in-law Herman L. and Norma Price, of Alamogordo; brother and sister-in-law David and Laura Haug; niece Amber Rust and nephew Brandon Haug; aunt and uncle Mr. and Mrs. Rodney (Mildred) Toon, of Alamogordo; aunt Ruth Whittaker, of Virginia; stepmother Mariam Toon, of Nebraska; cousins Ross and Kim Toon, of Frisco, Texas, and Abbie (Toon) White, of Albuquerque; and many cousins across the U.S.
Funeral services for Ray McKinley Toon were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harry Riser officiating. Masonic services will be conducted by Sacramento Lodge #24 A.F. & AM. Ray had been a master mason for 32 years and a member of Sacramento Lodge.
The Toon family has trusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
