Raymond C. Wilson
Raymond C. Wilson, age 84, passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas.
He was born July 3, 1926, to George and Lona (Stewart) Wilson in Haynesville, La. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Gloria Spradley on May 14, 1998, in Timberon.
He retired after 35 years of service as a gas plant operator from Marathon Oil Company. He served on the water district board and served as president of the Lion's Club and was also a charter member of the Masonic Lodge in Timberon. He dearly loved playing golf. He was a member of 6th and Jackson Church of Christ in Odessa.
His parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Wilson, of Odessa; his son Derek Wilson and wife, Priscilla, of Abilene, Texas; his daughter Paige Ramirez and husband, Adan, of Midland, Texas; his brother Virgil Wilson, of Hemphill, Texas; his sister Georgia Wyatt, of Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with Penny Nichols officiating.
Donations may be made in his memory to the New Mexico Christian Children's Home, 1356 New Mexico 236, Portales, NM 88130-9412, or to the Children's Home of Lubbock, 1712 E. 31st St., Lubbock, TX 79404.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home of Odessa.
