1955 - 2011 Obituary Condolences
Ricardo A. Duran, 56, passed away Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, in Alamogordo. He was born March 28, 1955, in Alamogordo to Perfecto Telles and Andrea Madrid (Almenqor) Duran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrea and Perfecto Duran, and a brother, Geronimo Duran.
Survivors include his wife, Veronica Macias Duran; daughters Darlene Shelton and husband, Steve, and Celena Duran and fiancé, John Garcia; grandchildren J.J., A.J. and Alana Shelton and Haley Garcia; sons Richard, Jason and Anthony Duran; brothers Ralph Almenqor and wife, Annie, Samuel Duran and wife, Mirna, David Duran and wife, Linda, Octaviano Duran and wife, Tina, Alfredo Duran and Michael Duran; a sister, Carolina Duran, and husband, Billy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ricardo worked for numerous schools. He had a passion for music and the Dallas Cowboys! He was a well known trumpet player in numerous bands.
The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Bryant as celebrant.
Pallbearers include all of Mr. Duran's brothers and nephew Christopher Duran. Honorary pallbearers will be Rosela Sanchez, Sommer Boyle, Evette Rahn, Rosemary Villa, Bianca Macias, Gerardo Monreal, Ricardo Monreal and David Ochoa.
Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Alamogordo.
The family will greet friends from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home.
The Duran family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
