1938 - 2008 Obituary Condolences
Richard Harold Zeisler, 69, of Elephant Butte, died in Denver April 9, 2008 after a long
illness. He was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Kankakee, Ill., to Harold William and Doris (Storrs)
Zeisler. Dick and his family moved to Alamogordo in 1953. Dick graduated from
Alamogordo High School in 1957, before enlisting in the Navy.
A talented French horn player, he played in the Navy band and was director of the Guam
Municipal Band while stationed there. He served his country for 10 years, stationed on
the USS Midway in the South China Sea during the Vietnam War and in many countries.
A self-taught computer whiz and entrepreneur, Dick owned several successful businesses
during his life.
He is survived by daughter, Jamie Brown and husband Russell; sons John Zeisler and
wife Belinda, all of Denver, and David Zeisler and wife Kristy, of Tempe, Ariz.; adored
grandchildren Hailey and Tyler Brown; sister Janet Miller, of Owings Mills, Md.; and
nephews Jeffrey and Philip Miller. His ashes will be taken to Italy by his children.
