Robert J. L. Shaw Obituary
Robert J. L. Shaw was born to Robert Wallace Shaw and Arlis Shaw in Lubbock, Texas on August 25, 1951 and passed away peacefully at home of natural causes in Alamogordo on March 5, 2017.

He was the baby brother to sisters Gerri and Dianna, who he took great care of by sending live vinegroons in the mail for their preschool class. He was also the father to Casey, Jessica and Raevene. He lived mostly in the Alamogordo and the Cloudcroft area and made many friends who will miss him dearly. He was a graduate of Alamogordo High School in 1969. His many talents made him seem a natural as an athlete, a versatile musician and a construction and masonry craftsman. Though not an avid golfer, he hit a hole in one. Though not an avid bowler, he bowled a 299. He loved solitude and adventure in the great outdoors, and made many people just feel good when they had the opportunity to hear him play guitar, harmonica and sing. Despite his many talents he was a modest person who didn't seek attention; though people were drawn to him anyway.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his sisters, his children, three grandchildren and many friends all of whom will smile when remembering their time with him.

A memorial service open to all family and friends will be hosted at the New Heart Cowboy Church on Friday 17, 2017, at 2 p.m. We will be hosting a potluck following the service, so please feel free to bring a dish of your choice.
