1935 - 2015 Obituary Condolences

Robert Sydney Testa, Sr., 79, passed away on September 15, 2015 in Alamogordo, New Mexico after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was born on December 16, 1935 in Troy, New York.

Robert graduated from Lansingburgh High School in 1952. Bob also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. His work experience include a short knife cutter at Jacobson Shirt Factory ; a missile tracker at Land Air; a plant manager at Oak Industries; owner and operator of Mountain Top Riding Stable; qualified control officer, microwave division for Allied Signal and fleet manager for Cars R Us. Bob was a member of the National Guard and was a Sp 4 when discharged from the army reserves.

As varied as his jobs were, so were his hobbies. Bob was an avid gun collector, sharpshooter, NRA member, country music fan, bird watcher and gardener. Once retired, he never stayed far from his beloved swing.

He is survived by his wife Lorraine; brother Reverend Richard Testa; his 5 children, Robert, Michael (Molly), Dena (Fred), Victoria (Dave) and Daniel (Tanya); 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death his parents, Victor and Jennie Testa.

The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Friday, September 18, 2015 at St. Jude Parish.

The Testa family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
