Robert V. Dickinson, 76, entered the loving arms of his Lord Jesus Christ on June 30, 2011.
Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Bob was born on February 8, 1935 in Akela, NM to Frank and Dolly Dickinson. He graduated from Deming High School in 1953 and then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for 3 years. After the service he went to work for Civil Service at Holloman Air Force Base initially in base supply and eventually as a computer systems analyst. This is where he met his wife, Patricia Ater. They were married from 44 years.
Bob is survived by his wife, Pat of Alamogordo; son, David Dickinson and his wife, Jacqueline of Los Lunas; son Patrick Dickinson of Kirtland, WA; daughter, Lauri Magee and her husband Erik; precious granddaughters, Fiona and Julia of Albuquerque; sister Marilyn Broom and her husband, Cal of Deming; sister Evelyn Teal and her husband Bobby of Slidell, LA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bob was a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed but "We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corrinthians 5:8
The Dickinson family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place locally at PCS.
