Robert W. Reynolds Obituary
Robert W. Reynolds, 26, of Grants, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011.
Robert was born March 6, 1985, to David and Lisa Reynolds in Las Vegas, Nev., and became the baby brother to Sharon and Sheena. Before Robert's first birthday, his family moved to Mimbres. Growing up in Mimbres, Robert took a liking to outdoor activities like bike riding, tubing down the Mimbres River and exploring Rainbow Hollow. Robert was an active child, playing T-ball and football, and participated in various church activities like AWANAS, VBS and the youth group. At 11 years old, Robert asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior and got baptized along with his sister Sheena.
Robert graduated May 2003 from Cobre High School in Bayard. Soon after graduation he got a job working at Grant County Excavation. Through this job, Robert was able to travel all over the U.S. Some of his best times with GCEX were on the beaches of Hawaii and in Louisiana with the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
On Nov. 20, 2009, Robert married his longtime girlfriend and true love, Irene Cordova, in Grants. They moved to Alamogordo to begin their lives together, but came to miss Grants and moved back to be closer to family.
Robert was a friendly, jovial person who thrived on making others laugh. Some of his most memorable jokes were "Hey, you dropped your pocket"; "Uh, your epidermis is showing" and "Stop making fun of me, I'll tell Mom." Robert always knew the way to make you smile, even on the worst occasions. He will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Robert is survived by his wife, Irene Cordova-Reynolds; stepdaughter Mich'aela, of Grants; his dad, David Reynolds, of Las Cruces; mom, Lisa Reynolds, of Alamogordo; sister Sharon and husband, Rick, of Alamogordo; sister Sheena and husband, Jay, of Tucson, Ariz.; grandpa Ron Reynolds and wife, Dee, of Arrey; niece Ryeann and nephews Austin, Kody, Wyatt and Jesse; numerous aunts and uncles; and many more cousins and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his grandma Sharon Reynolds.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Robert on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Alamogordo.
