Roger Clark Smith Obituary
Roger Clark Smith, 58, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, in Alamogordo. He was born on Jan. 10, 1954, in Middletown, N.Y., to James and Salena (Clark) Smith.
Roger had many interests including cars, music, sports and any activity his children were involved in. He was a service writer at Norm Arnold's and a warranty clerk at Alamo Car Company, which kept him involved with his love for cars. He was always up to date on music from the 1960s to new age. He enjoyed watching baseball and football on TV, and he would always keep up with his children in their sports endeavors, from Little League through high school and college. He always enjoyed a good joke with his one-of-kind sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patti Smith, of Alamogordo; his son Kevin and wife, Carley Smith of San Angelo, Texas; daughter Kellee Smith, of Alamogordo; two grandchildren Luke Baker and Kenley Smith of San Angelo, Texas; one brother Dwight and wife, Carolyn Smith of Thompson Ridge, N.Y.; aunt Mavis Schotts of Bessemer, Ala.; uncle Bill and wife , Alma Smith, of Middletown, N.Y.; sister-in-law Susan Smith, of Alamogordo; sister-in-law Ann and husband, Mike Davis, of Alamogordo; brother-in-law Larry and wife, Luann Provost, of Spring Glen, N.Y.; brother-in-law Frank and wife, Melanie Provost, of Escondido, Calif.; best friend Robert and wife, Debbie Tavares, of Alamogordo; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Salena Smith, brother, Jerry Smith, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jim and Maureen Garland.
Memorial services will be conducted at noon on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bart Montgomery officiating. The family will greet friends at 11 a.m. at the funeral home before the service.
