Ron L. Bremmer Obituary

Ron L. Bremmer, age 77, passed away on August 18, 2015, in Alamogordo, NM. He was born May 21, 1938, in Peoria, Ill. to Roy Bremmer and Thelma Lee.

He is preceded in death by both parents; his wife Joan Bremmer; sisters Jackie Carpentier and Shirley McClaskey; son Daniel Harris Bremmer; grandchildren Michael Harris, Dewayne Mc Donough and Kiah Harris.

He is survived by brothers Jerry Bremmer, Randy Bremmer, and Rick Bremmer; sisters Barbera and Cathy; and sisters-in-law Sondra Catt of Alamogordo, N.M., and AnnaMae Welsh of Bristol, Tenn. Children Ronda Bruemmer of Tularosa, Ronald Bruemmer II of Portales, and Eevee Bruemmer of Alamogordo; children Deborah Karpovage of Cleveland, Tenn., Gary Harris, Sandra Forr, Sharon Harris, Victoria Gathe all of Alamogordo, N.M., and Patrick Harris of Mont.; and 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ron served in the United States Armed Forces, being discharged in 1959 as a Private First Class; then served in the Army National Guard, retiring after 25 years in 1998 as a Sergeant First Class. His love of machining work for the United States Government at LandAir on such things as the Lunar Lander and the Space Lab for NASA.

He also participated in the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam of Page, Ariz., which was completed in 1961. Finally, lest we forget, he owned The Family Recreational Center here in Alamogordo, N.M., bringing the first video games to the town.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10 a.m., at Monte Vista Cemetery, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Bremmer family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the services.
