Ronald Carter Obituary

Ronald Carter, 70, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015, at his home in Alamogordo. He was born on May 14, 1944, in Nashville, Tenn., to Annie (Gray) Carter.

Ron attended school in Centerville, Tenn., graduating from Hickman County High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines and served in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
After 17 years of service in the marines, Ron spent the next 20 years as a captain for the Colorado Department of Corrections. After retirement, he went into the restaurant business. In 2013, he moved to Alamogordo. Ron loved fishing, gardening, cooking and, most of all, spending time with his family and close friends.

Survivors include his wife Mary; sons, Justin and his wife Lisa Carter, Jonathan Carter and his fiancée Elyse, and Clayton Carter. He is also survived by six grandchildren Tayden Carter, Kasen Carter, Kensi Carter, Kooper Carter, Alexis Carter and Wren Carter; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Debbie Esquero; nieces, Destini, Ariel, Liberty, Adreena; sister Sharon; brothers, Preston Carter and Chester Carter.

He was preceded in death by his mom Ann, Grandma, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Victor and Olivia Walters, as well as many other loved ones.

The family will greet friends from 8:30-9 a.m. Friday March 6, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. The mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Justin Carter, Jonathan Carter, Clayton Carter, Preston Carter, Rich Esquero and Clayton Hale.

The Carter family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
