Obituary Condolences

Ronald E. "Bud" Scraggs passed from this earth Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, after a long illness. He was born May 6, 1933, to Oder W. and Grace Blair Scraggs in Allen, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by both parents; brother Jesse Scraggs; and two brothers-in-law Roy L. Stitner and Bo Stokes.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, D.J.; daughter Kelly Scraggs, of Ruidoso; son Shawn Scraggs, of Sacramento, N.M.; sisters Carrie Stiltner of Wayne, W.Va., and Wilma Stokes of Greenville, S.C.; brother Clyde Scraggs and wife, Kathy, of Crawford, Colo.; granddaughter Nicole Replogle and husband, Mike, of Mexico, Mo; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Bud joined the U.S. Army in 1950 and served in the Korean War. He then joined the U.S. Air Force and was placed in the newly formed missile squadron and became a missile systems guidance analyst.
He retired in 1972 from Holloman Air Force Base having served 21 years in the military. He then worked for civil engineering at Holloman and retired in 1993.
In 1972 they bought the old Telles homestead in Bent. He spent the next 40 years restoring and building additions to the home that is a living memorial to his love of home and family.
A family memorial service will be held in West Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to or hospice.
Direct Cremation has taken place under the care of PCS Direct Cremation Services.
