Rosetta Pearl Dockray Obituary

Rosetta Pearl Dockray was born in Mayhill, N.M. to Adna and Hattie (Gilliland) Scott. She was the youngest of five children and lived in the Sacramento Mountains and Otero County most of her life. She married Henry Dockray, with whom she enjoyed 60 years, on September 24, 1948, and followed him to various locations during his military service. They settled in Alamogordo in 1956 and raised three children. Pearl was the bookkeeper for Alamo Tire Service for 29 years, retiring in June 2000 to enjoy gardening and her grandchildren.

Pearl is preceded in death by Henry in 2009.

She is survived by son, Ralph Dockray and wife LuEllen of Alamogordo, N.M.; daughter, Norma Pryor and husband Tim of Houston, Texas; son, Terry Dockray and wife Julie Coppell, Texas; daughter-in-law Cheryl Dockray of Alamogordo, N.M.; seven grandchildren, Jeremiah, Cheryl, Nathaniel, Kris, Eric, Sara, and Stephanie, their spouses and ten great grandchildren with another on the way. She is also survived by a sister, Lou Hastings, sisters-in-law Marjorie Curtis, Julia Dockray, and Julia Scott, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Also of special note is Beatrice Dupont and her family who reside in France.

The family would like to thank the staff of The BeeHive, Alamogordo Home Care and Hospice and Dr. Dan Moezzi for their special love and attention.

Al Maxey and Reverend Dustin Wilhite will lead a celebration of life on Saturday, May 28, at 10 a.m., in the Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel.

The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
