Royce Sherrick Obituary
Born in Zanesville, Ohio to Richard and Virginia Sherrick.

Royce's true calling began on June 16, 2003, when he chose to become sober. He struggled those first years, but with good sponsors and a true desire, he stuck with it and eventually made the decision to help others through a program known today as The Step House, a residential, sober-living program for men who are serious about learning how to live a life in sobriety. In 2010, Royce met Kristy and an incredible love story followed. Royce and Kristy were true soul mates and shared a history that most couples don't have. They married on 11-11-11 and became marriage partners and business partners and The Step House flourished.

Royce was compassionate and tough at the same time. He knew what the residents were going through, and he knew what they needed. And he knew it takes a long-term commitment to make it work. Royce made the commitment to be a mentor, guide and leader. He never asked any of the residents to do anything he hadn't done, or wouldn't do. Through faith and trust, Royce helped many, many people become better people and truly cared for everyone. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back or the cap off his head to help you out. Or don a Santa Claus suit for the children in the community. He opened his home to anyone that needed help, and created an amazing program to continue helping people and his community. Royce lived in Truth. He showed all of us what it was like to live in Faith and to truly believe in God.

Royce's soul left his body due to a heart-attack and did not suffer, as he died instantly.

Preceding him in death were his father, Richard Sherrick and Virginia Sherrick Compston and step-father Clarence Compston.

Royce is survived by his wife, Kristy Sherrick; Sisters, Paula Alexander (Bruce), Penny Brooks (David), Pamela Carletti (Steve) and brother Shawn Sherrick (Stephanie Osborn); His Son, Joshua Lane Fosco (Grandsons Antonio, Kyler, and Kaden Fosco); Daughter Amista Sherrick-Price (fiancé Brian Miller); Grandsons James and Dominick Price; Daughter Claudia Rivas; Son-in-law Jon Cowan (fiancée Alex Le'Beau); Daughter-in-law Kassandra Hicks (Christopher Hicks); Granddaughter Kayleigh Grace Hicks; Beloved in-laws, Jerry and Terry Lund, and Kristy's siblings Tracy Howard, Cyndi Carter (Mike), Tim Lund (Rosie) and their families.

We love you, Royce, and miss you always! Rest in Heaven Royce!
