Ruben G. Misquez Sr. Obituary
Ruben G. Misquez Sr., also known to his friends as "Chicken," succumbed at his family home Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011.
He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1947 and honorably discharged from the National Guard in 1960. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
His is survived by his wife, Corrine Misquez, who has been by his side for 62 years and daughter, Liz Rodriguez, of Albuquerque; brothers Daniel Misquez and Ben Misquez, both of Alamogordo; his sister Melin Joseph, of Pontiac, Mich.; and six grandsons, Raymond Misquez, Nick Rodriguez, Christopher Misquez, Edward Misquez, Gilbert Misquez Jr. and Anthony Misquez, all of whom will serve as pallbearers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Seferina Misquez, and two sons, Ruben Misquez Jr. and Gilbert Misquez.
The rosary will be recited at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 1 p.m. at the church following the rosary with Father Juan Montoya, O.F.M., as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
The family will greet friends at noon at the church before the rosary.
The Misquez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
