Rufino Torres Obituary
April 5, 1934 ~ Oct. 11, 2009
Rufino was born in 1934 in Cienegillas, Durango, Mexico. After a long search he found his love and had several children with her.
Rufino found his way to Alamogordo, where he resided till his passing. Rufino came across several jobs, but nothing like the great opportunity working for the city of Alamogordo, where he retired after 25 years.
Rufino loved to have all types of gatherings all the time; however, Christmas and Thanksgiving were a must as his house.
Rufino, in earlier years, had a ranch where he had all his chickens, goats, cows, pigs and, most importantly, his roosters. All his close friends and family knew about those roosters!! Rufino is loved and will be missed very much.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife and the mother of his children, Ramona Torres Guillen; his parents, Felicitas Diaz and Inez Torres; and his caring son Jesus Torres.
He is survived in Alamogordo by daughters Manuela Torres and her son Jesus, (Chuy) Torres, Martha and husband, Melcher Muniz, and their children, Domenique, Julian and Zwemy; son Jesus Ernesto Torres and his wife, Krystal, and their children Graciela and Trinidad; and daughter Sylvia Torres and her children Rufino Torres and Manuel Pina. He is survived in Juarez by his sons Rufino Torres and Jose Inez Torres; daughters Martha Torres and her family, Felicitas Castro and her family, Maria Hilaria Torres and her family and Soledad Saucedo and her family. Rufino was blessed with 23 grandchildren from his kids and 28 great-grandchildren from his grandkids, plus he has two great-grandkids on the way. He is also survived by lifelong friends Margarita and Oscar Najar.
The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Tony Garcia. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Bryant Hausfeld, O.F.M., as celebrant.
Pallbearers include Jesus (Chuy) Torres, Manuel Pina, Rufino Torres, Melchor Muniz, Jaime Castro and Jesus Ernesto Torres.
Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Alamogordo Funeral Home.
The Torres family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
