Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother
Ruth Arlone Miller, 85, of Alamogordo, passed away, Sunday, May 24, 2009 at her home.
Ruth Alone Miller was born May 26, 1926 in Butler County, Kan. to Leslie and Pauline (Thomas) Getter.
She entered to U.S. Navy in 1943 as a radioman in Hawaii during World War II. She returned to the states and received an honorable discharge in 1946. She attended Friends University in Kansas and completed her education in Albuquerque at the University of New Mexico.
She was married to John I. Miller from June of 1948 until her timely passing on May 24, 2009. They moved to Alamogordo in 1956.
She was best known as a friendly checker at Furrs grocery store in Alamogordo where she worked for 15 years. She loved Jesus and her church, taking nature hikes. She had a giving heart and always gave a helping hand to all those in need.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John I. Miller of the family home; their five children, Leonard "Rusty" Miller, Denise Scherer and husband Tony, Janice Eves and husband Kent, Sandra Krall and husband Thomas, and Charles Miller and wife Julie; her eight grandchildren, David and Steven Scherer, Joseph and John Krall, Renée Weaver, Christina Eves and Zackary and Kira Miller and her four great grandchildren, Raegan and Kenna Weaver and Drew and Alexis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2009 at Christ Community Church with Reverend Jack Brock Officiating.
Interment will follow in White Dove of the Desert Cemetery.
The Miller family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
