Obituary Condolences

Mrs. Ruth J. Glisson, widow of Senior Master Sgt. Marshall W. Glisson, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at the family's home at 113 Haynes Canyon Rd., High Rolls-Mountain Park.
Born at Langley Field, Va., on Nov. 16, 1927, she was the youngest of six children of the late Daniel W. and Alma B. Ennis Fraley.
She was born into a military family and spent her early years on many Army bases.
She met her husband in 1949 and married him at the age of 23 on Nov. 22, 1950. At his death on Sept. 23, 1999, they had been married for 48 years and 10 months.
She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in High Rolls-Mountain Park, and the Women's Club of Alamogordo.
In the church, she was very active in the church administrative council, serving as the membership secretary. She also sang in the choir for many years.
In the Alamogordo Women's Club, she helped multiple offices, including president for the local club and the statewide organization.
She is survived by daughter Alma Galindo and her husband, John, of the family home; five grandchildren, Stephanie Sifford, of Albuquerque, Joshua, Joseph and Jonathan Montes, of Las Cruces, and Kelly Glisson of Albuquerque; nephew Stephen Stagner and his wife, Mary Anne, of Connecticut; and sister-in-law Dorothy Draper, of Tennessee.
Ruth was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her son John Marshall Glisson.
Ruth requested that her body be cremated.
A memorial service will be held at Community United Methodist Church at a later date.
