Shawn Christopher Smith Obituary

Shawn Christopher Smith , 36, passed away on March 27, 2015, in Lakewood, Colo. He was born on March 22, 1979, in El Paso, Texas, to Gary and Amalia Eva (Gonzales) Smith.

Shawn was supervisor at Qdoba Restaurant in Lakewood, Colo. He was well known in Alamogordo at the Dollar Tree. Shawn also loved taking his nephew fishing in Colorado. He loved the outdoors and being around his cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Survivors include his father Gary Smith of Alamogordo and mother Amalia Eva (Gonzales) of Colorado. Shawn grandfathers' were Arnalfo Gonzales and Lyman E. Smith (deceased). Shawn's grandmothers were Cecilia Gonzales and Emma Smith of Alamogordo.
Shawn had two wonderful sisters, Valerie Fowler and Ashley Smith and one brother, Lee E. Smith from Las Cruces. He had three uncles, Ronnie Smith from Las Cruces, Larry A Smith from Jacksonville, Fla., and Rusty Smith of Alamogordo. He had four aunts Carie Smith of Las Cruces, Yolando Norton from California, Diana Vela from Indiana and Barbara Nash from Alamogordo. Shawn's cousins' were Natalie, Gayle and Haskell from California, Dawn and Nathan from Las Cruces, Elizabeth and Erik Smith from Alamogordo, Amy from Texas, Allen Smith from Washington, D.C., and Stephanie (deceased).

The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home Chapel, followed by the Rosary for Shawn at 7 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2015, also at Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015, at St. Jude Parish. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
