Obituary Condolences

Shirley E. Woodruff, who comforted and cradled so many children and young people in her arms, left us on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, to be comforted in the arms of our Lord.
Shirley was born in Magdalena on May 15, 1937, to O.Z. and Ruth Bostick.
She married her high school sweetheart, Benjamin Woodruff, on Labor Day in 1956. They were blessed with seven children, Fred, of Alamogordo; Cecil, of Seattle, Wash.; Teddy, of El Paso; Alice Schlensig and Thelma Guthrie, both of Alamogordo; and Patricia and Russell, who preceded her in death. She was also blessed with four grandchildren, Edward and Russle Schlensig, of Alamogordo; Ruby Asbury, of Denver; and Jasmine Juarez, of Alamogordo, and two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Juarez and Autumn Asbury.
She is further survived by her husband; three brothers, Jeff and John Stock, of Farmington, and Russell Bostick; three sisters, Jackie Gleason, of Phoenix, and Grace and Venna Stock, of Farmington; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two children.
Shirley was a member of the L.D.S. Church and Chapter 1649 of the W.O.T.M in Alamogordo.
Memorial services will be conducted at the Alamogordo Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2009.
The Woodruff family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place locally at PCS.
