1960 - 2009 Obituary Condolences
Steven Samuel Bodie, 48, of Bandera, passed away on Jan. 14, 2009. He was born on July 26, 1960, to Richard and Patsy Bodie in Topeka, Kan. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a veteran of the Army, 82nd Airborne Division; he was injured during active duty. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veteran Association and the Holloman Fire Department as dispatcher.
He lived life daily with God; he dreamed of being a farmer. He was especially gifted with his hands and practiced faith through his woodwork, he was loved by all that knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Patsy Bodie of La Luz; wife, Carey Bodie of Bandera; daughters, Aubrey (Gilbert) Davila of Kerrville, and Danielle (Daniel) Markham of Alamogordo; son, Gareth (Amanda) Bodie of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Thomas Michael Bodie of Alamogordo; grandchildren, Destiny Markham, Devon Markham, Lillyyana Bodie, Makayla Bodie, Emmery Davila, and one expected; nephew, Ryan Michael Bodie; nieces, Nicole and April Bodie; great grandmother-in-law, Margaret Hayes of Farmington, N.H.; mother-in-law, Jane Rose Beck of Alamogordo; father-in-law, Ronald Orin Beck of Alamogordo; brothers-in-law, Ron, Erich, and Bart Beck; numerous niece and nephews.
A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at 4 p.m., officiated by Doug Markham at the Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. at the Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio.
