Ted Mayfield Obituary
Ted Mayfield, 76, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2011. He was born Sept. 28, 1934, in Casper, Wyo., to Lewis K. and Irene (Longstreath) Mayfield.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marie, of Alamogordo; sons Rick, of Frisco, Texas, and Gordon and his wife, Kathy, of Denton, Texas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Ted Mayfield was known for selling cars for many years in the Alamogordo area. He also served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-59. He was also known for his love of music. He played all types of music and was known to his family and friends as "Thumper" for his drumming skills.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Denise Marie Mayfield.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Faith Baptist Church in La Luz with Dr. Scott Mayfield officiating.
The Mayfield family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Alamogordo funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
