Thomas K. Goodrich Obituary
Thomas K. Goodrich, 87, a longtime resident of Alamogordo, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011, in Albuquerque. He was born July 8, 1923, in Dayton, Ohio, to Blaine and Hazel Goodrich. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ward Goodrich, and his wife of 54 years, Jane Goodrich.
Tom received a bachelor's degree in forestry from Purdue University, did graduate work at Texas Christian University and was a proud World War II veteran - he served in the 100th Infantry. A longtime employee of the United States Forest Service, Tom had an undying love for horses and the mountains. His career in timber management took him from California to Louisiana, Colorado, Tennessee, Arizona and finally New Mexico, where he has resided since 1967.
He is survived by his three children and their families, all of Albuquerque: Tina Goodrich and sons Alex and Sam; Mike Goodrich, his wife, Lori Ballinger, and their children Beth and David; and Lisa Gallup, her husband, Don, and their children Bobby and Sami.
A private family service has been held in Santa Fe where Tom and Jane's ashes were interred together at the National Cemetery.
