Obituary Condolences

Tio Julian G. Casillas, 92, passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, in Alamogordo. He was born April 12, 1916, in El Paso, Texas.
Tio Julian began working at the age of 8, working on several beet and alfalfa ranches until the age of 20. He worked packing alfalfa and doing other farming duties.
At the age of 20 he moved to Arizona, where he also worked on the ranches.
He returned to Alamogordo where he met and married Jesusita Chavez. He worked in the Spora treatment plant and the Railroad Track Company.
He moved to Colorado in 1945 and worked at the Beet Ranch. He later moved back to the Alamogordo/Las Cruces area, where he worked at White Sands Missile Range as a carpenter for 31 years until his retirement.
He was taken care of by his nieces Helen Granados, Mary Misquez and Lucy Espinosa; grandchildren Brandee, Crystal, Dominique, Vincent, Andrew and Adam, Orlando and Ernesto Hernandez, Bobby Jr. and Thomas Casillas; and one great-grandchild.
He is survived by his son Bobby Casillas and wife, Leanior; daughter Marylou and husband, Ernest Hernandez; and brother Tony Rivera.
He was preceded in death by sisters Maggie and Josephina; brothers Lino and Alfredo; and nephew Ernesto Granados.
The family will receive relatives and friends at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited immediately after at 9:30 a.m. by Mrs. Perez.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Deacon Don Dickman as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Granados, Panta Provencio, Ramon Duran, Rudy Hernandez, Ignacio Sarmiento and Bobby Casillas Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Misquez, Andrew, Vincent, Ernest J., Orlando, Tommy, Kevin, Leanard and Inez Benetiz. 
The Casillas family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
