Treela (Leopard) Wright , 93, beloved Mother and Grandma to three generations, passed away Wednesday Sept. 30, 2015, at her home in College Station, Texas.

Visitation was held Sunday Oct. 4, 2015, from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station, Texas. Funeral services were held graveside on Monday Oct. 5, 2015, at 10 a.m. at College Station Cemetery.

Treela was born in a tent on October 14, 1921, in Wert, Oklahoma to William Alton and Mary Lee Leopard. She spent her growing up years in Oklahoma. Then she lived for several years in Washington State, where she met William Howard Wright who was serving in the U.S. Army at Camp Hanford. They later married and transferred to Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas, where he finished out his 20 years of service. The next stop was Alamogordo, N.M., where she was active in the community and the Alamogordo Church of the Nazarene. She lived in Alamogordo for 37 years until after her husband's death in 1998. She moved to College Station in 2000.

She is remembered as a devoted wife and mother, trusted friend, gracious hostess, Bible scholar, and a very special lady. She was a Godly woman who lived her life in the service of others. She possessed many talents such as needlepoint, quilting, and was known as the best cook around. She was witty, kind and made friends wherever she went. She will truly be missed by friends and family around the globe.

Treela was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William H. Wright; son Ronald E. Talbert; her parents; and two brothers, Raymond and Vernon Leopard.

She is survived by her daughter Reta (Talbert) Zimmer and husband Richard of College Station, Texas; two grandchildren Ron Zimmer and wife, Susie, of Chico, Calif.; Rene Zimmer of Ashburn, Va.; two great grandchildren, Makenzie Hawes and husband, Logan, of Chico, Calif., Kelsey Zimmer of Chico, Calif.; a great-great granddaughter, Georgia Hawes of Chico, Calif.; two brothers, Travis Leopard and wife Mary Jo of Davenport, Ind. and Leon Leopard of Bastrop, Texas; as well as an abundance of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Ann Nichols of the Compassionate Care team who provided an environment of warmth, dignity and laughter in Treela's final days.
