Tyrone "Terry" M. Benson Obituary
Tyrone "Terry" M. Benson, 75, of Alamogordo, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at home. He was born Oct. 6, 1938, in Red Wing, Minn.
He joined the Air Force as a Flight Line Mechanic in 1954 and served 24 years, including one year in Vietnam. Terry retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1980 and went on to a 20-year career in civil service at Holloman Air Force Base. He was also a State Commander of the VFW, dedicating 36 years of his time and energy volunteering for active soldiers, veterans and citizens of New Mexico.
Terry is survived by his life partner, Brenda Markulik; four sons Michael, Douglas, David and Danny; three daughter-in-laws Heather, Katrina and Jaimie; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Scott, daughter Theresa, brother Royce and parents Monroe and Anna.

Terry was a beloved man who touched so many lives and filled those around him with joy. The world will not be the same without our "Bubbles."
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to the VFW program National Military Services online at (click on National Military Services), or hand the donation to a family member during the funeral or viewing (payable to 'Veterans of Foreign Wars').
