Obituary Condolences

Dr. Virgil Clay Salyer Jr., of Dublin, Texas, also known as Skipper, passed away to be with his Heavenly Father Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at Comanche County Hospital.
He enjoyed every day of his chiropractic career of 46 years, which included being the past president of the Texas Chiropractic Association and past president of the Chiropractic Board of Examiners. He had a doctorate in homeopathy. He had a fulfilling life of spreading laughter and encouragement to his family, patients and many friends. He was born Aug. 21, 1940, and was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Salyer and Lou Ella McCarthy, of Dublin, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of Dublin; four children, Lynn Salyer, of Mayhill, Dr. Eddie Salyer and spouse, Michelle, of Dublin, Chris Fine and spouse, Ricky, of Dublin, and Amber Salyer, of the U.S. Armed Forces; four grandchildren, Patrick Salyer, of Hico, Texas, Aleisha Jenness, of La Luz, Shayla Fine, of Dublin, and Jordan Salyer, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four stepchildren, Steve Cleveland and spouse, Debbie, of Chico, Texas, Karen Gilmore and spouse, Wilburn, of Bowie, Texas, Tracey Ford and spouse, Kenneth, of Bellevue, Texas, and Becky Dear and spouse, John, of Decatur, Texas; eight step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Rockypoint Baptist Church, 3595 CR 178, Stephenville, TX 76401 on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at 2 p.m.
