Obituary Condolences

Retired Air Force and civil service
Wallace J. "Wally" Kraemer, 80, of Alamogordo, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at Good Samaritan Betty Dare.
Mr. Kraemer was born Dec. 26, 1927, in Lucca, N.D., the fourth of five boys to George and Oluefa "Olive" (Myklebust) Kraemer. He moved to Brainerd, Minn., with his family in 1929. He attended school in Brainerd. In high school he played varsity football, ran the mile in track and played basketball. After high school he joined the Army Air Corps. He served over 20 years and retired in 1967 as a master sergeant. He then worked for civil service at Holloman Air Force Base and retired in 1983 as an electronics technician.
Wally truly loved his family and was so proud of them. He also loved to play golf and pulled his golf cart hundreds of miles on the golf courses. For many years he and his family traveled to Minnesota in the summertime so he could play golf with his brother.
He liked to play poker, too, and was good at it. Many of those summer trips to Minnesota were financed with poker winnings.
Survivors include a son, Tim Kraemer and his wife, Pamela, of Stafford, Va.; a son-in-law, Paul Jackson, of Alamogordo; two grandsons, Paul Justin Jackson and his wife, Sophie, of Ruidoso, and Ryan Jackson, of Las Cruces; one great-grandson, Joseph Benjamin Jackson, of Ruidoso; a brother, Al Kraemer and his wife, Marcie, of Brainerd; and two sisters-in-law, Kay Palmer and her husband, Paul, of Tampa, Fla., and Mary Guy and her husband, Bill, of Watauga, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda Ayers Kraemer, in 1990; a daughter, Janet Jackson; and three brothers, Lloyd, Ralph and Kenneth Kraemer.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 9 a.m. in the Hamilton-O'Dell Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Moon officiating.
Committal services will follow at 2 p.m. at South Park Cemetery in Roswell with military honors to be provided by the Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Friends may call Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
