MSG (R) Warren E. Bordine Obituary
MSG (R) Warren Eugene "Gene" Bordine of Alamogordo, NM passed away on 5 June 2017 at Mesilla Valley Hospice due to complications from COPD. His daughter Debbie Rabon and close friend Jimmy Yarborough were with him when he passed peacefully.

He was a graduate of the class of 1962 from Sandusky High School in Sandusky, Ohio and joined the Army after attending Indiana University of Ohio. Gene served in the U.S. Army for 20 years initially as a Chinese linguist and later as a Meteorological Technician and was posted to Arizona, Alaska, Colorado, Montana, Korea, Italy, and Oklahoma before retiring to Alamogordo in 1984. After which he worked as a government civilian on White Sands Missile Range as a meteorological technician, eventually accepting postings to New Hampshire and Yuma, Arizona before returning to Alamogordo to retire for a second time in 2007.

Gene married Linda Bordine in December of 1990 and spent many happy years together before she passed away on 30 October 2016. Gene had many interests, which included hunting, fishing, and camping from time to time. An avid painter in his youth he turned to photography in his adult years. One of his favorite past times in his later years was to sit in his back yard grilling and smoking a cigar. Most of all, he loved telling tall tales of his adventures in the military at the Moose Lodge and pulling people's leg when he could. Always a little rough around the edges, his soft side came out with his dogs that he loved dearly and sad movies.

He is survived by his sister Cheryl Puscher and brothers David and Don Bordine; as well as his daughters Christine Bordine and Debbie Rabon and his stepchildren Karen Anderson, Daniel Muse and Kristie Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held on 25 August 2017 at the Santa Fe National Military Cemetery, 501 N Guadalupe St, at 10:30am with full military honors. In lieu of donations the family requests that donations be made in Gene's name to the Madison Quinn Bordine Education Fund c/o Key Bank 27323 Wolf Road, Bay Village, OH 44140.
