Wavelett "Waverly" Turner Obituary

Wavelett Turner, 95, of Alamogordo, N.M., passed away on Saturday, Jan.23, 2016. She was born to the late Arthur Winslow and Rubia Weymouth (Winslow) on Oct. 24, 1920, in Bowdoinham, Me.

Waverly was an active member of many communities to include Phippsburg, Maine; Ft. Myers & Cross City, Florida; Roswell, New Mexico; and resided in Alamogordo, New Mexico when she went to be with the Lord. In all of these communities she was very active in her church, witnessing to many she came in contact with, passing out inspirational information, and offering encouraging words to those in need.

After her children were raised, Waverly spent many hours visiting community members that were sick or troubled in hopes to brighten their day. In her spare time, she loved pouring over cookbooks, spending time in prayer and Bible study, reading, and sewing.

Waverly is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Russell W. Turner.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Winslow, and her six children: Sharron Morse, Russell Turner, Jr., Deborah Bisping, Stephen Turner, Brenda Dorsey, and Michael Turner. She also leaves behind many caring grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

Waverly requested that a funeral not be held, but instead for her ashes to be scattered with her husband in Maine.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her over the last few years at Betty Dare Good Samaritan Center.
She will be greatly missed.
