1926 - 2011 Obituary Condolences
Wendell Reid Henry, 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011. Wendell was born July 25, 1926, in Pernell, Okla. Wendell proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, after which he spent most of his professional career in education helping young people reach their full potential.
Wendell is remembered for his love of laughter, devotion to church and family, and passion for helping others. He liked to spend time fishing, golfing, playing baseball and searching for arrowheads near his dearly loved home of Alamogordo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; his son Royce John; and his two brothers, Jimmy and Royce Henry.
Continuing to celebrate his life are his daughter Debra; son-in-law Terry Roubidoux; brother Forest Henry; grandchildren Tahnee (Anthony) Coulston, Douglas (Susie) Roubidoux and Renee' Henry; and great-grandchildren Kayla, Harry, Reid and Charles.
Top Shelf, Granddad!
Visitation with the family was conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. The funeral service began at 10 a.m.
