Wendy Kirsten Willis, 51, passed away February 5th, in the gentle care of staff at Fort Bayard Medical Facility near Silver City, N.M. After a six month struggle with a stroke and cancer, she passed peacefully without pain.

Wendy was born to Bill and Sunny (Lynch) Willis in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Her childhood and teenage years were spent traveling the world with her family to Japan, Germany, throughout Europe, and living in Texas, Kansas, Colorado and Maine. She studied art at UTEP, and the University of Maryland, European Campus.
In Maine, she met and married Richard C. Owens.

She is survived by her ex-husband, their two children, Rhiannon (Owens) Jaskolowski, and Nickolas C. Owens and three grandchildren whom she adored Rafael, Skylar, and Regina.

Wendy's surviving family are her sister Rachael Rosillo, with husband Fernando and son Alex of Ruidoso, and her sister Karl Willis and her son Matthew, and Wendy's mother in Alamogordo.

We miss her loving kindness, her humor and creativity. We commend her spirit to the joy of the Lord.

The family wishes to thank those many people who have kept Wendy in their thoughts and prayers.
A memorial for friends and family will be held at a date to be announced.
