William "Bill" Davis Obituary
Bill Davis, 62, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family, friend, and beloved dog, Onyx. He was born in Jacksonville, N.C., March 21, 1951, to Joshua Kerney and Zelma Lee Marshburn Davis.
Bill came to Alamogordo in 1980. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base where he retired in 1992. He met his "Cutie" in 1990 and they shared 23 wonderful years together. He loved the outdoors, was a hard-working man and willing to help those in need.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jolene S. "Cutie" Davis; his precious daughter Angelina L. Rodriguez and husband, Calletano, of Albuquerque; his son whom he spoke so highly of Clifton Darrell Tinkham, stationed in California; mother, Zelma Davis, of North Carolina; mother-in-law Violet Ortiz, of Alamogordo; sisters Charlotte Alphin and husband, Danny, of North Carolina; Paula Manuel and brother-in-law, Michael Manuel, of North Carolina; sister-in law Darlene "Sis" Ortiz, of Alamogordo; brothers-in-law Merlin Ortiz Sr., Alvin Ortiz, Kevin Ortiz, Nevin Ortiz Sr. and wife, Lynell, all of Alamogordo; two step-grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, baby sister Rhonda Jo Davis and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home Chapel with Chuck Moon officiating.
Full military honors will be held in his hometown of Jacksonville, N.C., at the Davis Cemetery. The Davis family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services. To sign the online register book, please visit
