William E. “Bill” Woltz Obituary
William E. "Bill" Woltz, 70, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 in Alamogordo, NM. He was born on Sunday, Sept. 27, 1942 in Riverdale, Md, to Lawrence R. and Margaret H. (Stanton) Woltz, Sr.
Mr. Woltz moved to Alamogordo in 1962 and was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base - He also served in Vietnam and Thailand while stationed there. He married Louise "Boogee" Hymansen in 1965. After he left the Air Force, he lived in Maryland for several years before coming back to Alamogordo in 1973, where he worked at the Department of Public Safety. In 1985, he went to work for the Otero County Sheriff's office serving as Deputy and Under Sheriff until his retirement in 2006. He also served as a medical investigator for the state of N.M. for 15 years. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the D.A.V. He was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church and the Brotherhood of St. Andrew.
He is survived by his wife, Boogee Woltz, of the family home; two daughters, Jeri L. Melton and husband, Roy, of Alamogordo and Christy F. Clark and husband, John, of Phoenix; a son Sean Woltz, of Las Vegas, Nev.; Melissa Walker Woltz, of Alamogordo; grandchildren, Amanda Melton, of Albuquerque, David Melton, of Alamogordo, Corey Clark and Cody Clark both of Phoenix, Shanniah Woltz, of Alamogordo and Tristen Woltz, of Las Vegas, Nev.; his mother Margaret Woltz, his brother Lawrence Woltz and wife, Peggy, of Gettysburg, Pa. and a sister Barbara Woltz, of College Park, Md.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 at St. John's Episopal Church, 1114 Indiana Ave., Alamogordo with Rev. Dr. Thomas Arrowsmith-Lowe, SOSc officiating.
The Woltz family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
