Obituary Condolences

William Frederick Hall, 79, an Alamogordo resident of 41 years, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009, in the Good Samaritan Society Betty Dare, Alamogordo.
Mr. Hall was born in Youngstown, Ohio, to Herschel and Loretta (Schultz) Hall. Mr. Hall married Carole Steele Dec. 28, 1950, in Youngstown, Ohio.
Mr. Hall was a 20-year veteran of the Air Force, retiring in 1969 at the rank of staff sergeant. During his time in the Air Force, he preformed with Tops in Blue and sang at the NCO Club at Holloman Air Force Base. He came from a musical family and especially enjoyed playing the guitar and base fiddle. He enjoyed singing country and western and bluegrass music. After retirement he worked for 17 years with White Sands Forest Products. He was Alamogordo's "Santa Claus" to area children for 17 years and served many years as a Little League umpire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carole V. (Steele) Hall; two daughters, Loretta Hall Diehl and husband, Gunther, of Alamogordo, and Jeannine L. Brennan and husband, Francis, of Las Cruces; two sisters, Gladys Welty, of Canfield, Ohio, and Audrey Heidenscher, of Omaha, Neb.; one brother, Robert Hall, of Erie, Penn.; grandchildren Rachel Diehl, of Alamogordo, and April Brennan, Sean Brennan and Bryce Brennan, all of Fredericksburg, Va.; great-grandchildren Zachary Brennan, of Las Cruces, and Caleigh Brennan, Kohlby Brennan, Felicity Brennan, Gwendolyn Brennan and Nathaniel Brennan, all of Fredericksburg; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, March 19, 2009, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Alamogordo Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held Friday, March 20, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bart Montgomery officiating.
Interment will follow in Monte Vista Cemetery with full military honors provided by Holloman Air Force Base Steel Talons Honor Guard.
The Hall family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
